Founder

ANNE BARGE CLEGG

Enchanted by weddings from a young age, Anne Barge was destined for design. As a child, Anne spent many weekends sitting beside her mother, a concert pianist, through wedding ceremonies and special occasions alike. Inspired by the real brides as they wed, Anne sketched gowns for friends and family. She entered Syracuse University to purse a degree in costume design and completed her art degree at The University of Georgia.

After fostering her natural talents at Priscilla of Boston, Anne opened her first store, Anne Barge For Brides, in Atlanta, GA. In business for over thirteen years, Anne ultimately sold her salon to Kleinfeld’s and took her creativity overseas to London, where she opened Virgin Bride by request of Sir Richard Branson.

With love and support from industry friends and a loyal clientele, Anne Barge launched her eponymous label in 1999, embodying all of the southern charm and grace of the legend herself.
